Regeneration System by Aquafil

Imagine you could turn old waste into something brand new and beautiful. The ECONYL® brand does just this: We turn nylon waste into prime material for industrial manufacturing.

The ECONYL® materials are created through an innovative process called the ECONYL® Regeneration System. This process is based on sustainable chemistry where the raw material contained in nylon waste such as carpets, clothing or fishing nets is transformed back i

In the years 2011 and 2012, we have reclaimed close to 16,000 tons of pre-and post-consumer waste globally. Since 2012 all our products are made from 50% post-consumer waste.
Our aim is to gradually increase this percentage so we can soon produce ECONYL® polyamide from 100% post-consumer waste.

In 2013 we - as Aquafil, the owner of the ECONYL® brand - created, together with two other partners, the Healthy Seas initiative. The initiative, aims to provide a solution to these problems by bringing together busi- nesses, NGOs, divers, fishermen and others stakeholders to recover the fishing nets and recycle them into ECONYL® regenerated nylon yarn for new sustainable products.

From swimwear to carpet tiles, from sportswear to underwear – ECONYL® products are turned into an endless variety of quality products that enrich our daily lives.
All ECONYL® regenerated products have exactly the same quality, purity, performance and aesthetic properties as nylon made from raw material.
